With great regret today I sold the Bandit. 50,000 km still on original chain and sprockets (thanks Scottoiler) and still like new. Why? I am going to buy a new BMW R1200GS, so there will be writings about that to come on the blog.

That is sad to hear. Are you looking to do more of off road touring rather than on road as you would on the Bandit and hence the GS? I trust your info on the Bandit would remain available for us.

A friend has the new water cooled model and it is an outstanding road bike you can take anywhere. I will keep the blog running and will add any new bike to it, so fear not.

ReplyDeleteI own a bandit 1250 in rotorua and was told the previous owner traded it for a new BMW bike and was from down south. Bit of a coincidence but yours was red not black? Mine also has now 54000kms on it.great bike and easily keeps up if not almost runs into the back of my friends ducatti 888.
